About / American Curl characteristics
What living with an American Curl is like
Medium-small sized cats with ears that curl back toward the skull and a personality that stays kitten like for years. They are busy, funny and very people oriented.

Temperament
Curls are active without being frantic. They open cabinets, ride on shoulders and greet visitors. They do well with kids and with other cats.
The ears
Ear is graded in three degrees, from a slight arc to a full crescent. The cartilage is firm, the ear is sensitive to rough handling, and the curl has no effect on hearing.
Coat and grooming
Both longhair and shorthair Curls have a semi-long silky coat with minimal undercoat. Weekly combing is not necessary, so the coat is easy to keep, but the ears do need cleaning once or twice a week.
